One of the most highly-regarded musicals of the last century, SOUTH PACIFIC has been announced for Australia. Opera Australia along with the Gordon Frost Organisation are thrilled to bring this new production to the iconic Sydney Opera House.

 

An iconic Rodgers and Hammerstein classic, SOUTH PACIFIC is a story of love, war, prejudice and understanding. Tony Award Winner Bartlett Sher (director of the Lincoln Centre production which this production replicates), ensures all these threads are woven into a cohesive, interesting, rewarding piece of musical history. Sher is set to travel to Australia to oversee the Australian remount.

SOUTH PACIFIC starred Australian theatre and television darling Lisa McCune alongside formidable baritone Teddy Tahu Rhodes. The production saw two entirely sold out seasons at The Sydney Opera House as well as two national tours throughout 2012, 2013 and 2014 to critical acclaim.
